Oats are normally contaminated by wheat and are not considered gluten free unless it specifically says gluten free. Oats are often cross contaminated because they are grown in fields near wheat and processed on the same machinery as wheat in most facilities. If someone is a true celiac and cannot have even the tiniest ppm of gluten they cannot eat regular oats.
