Vietnamese iced coffee is very refreshing in August’s heat. Plus it calls for only coffee and sweetened condensed milk. Yum!
Vietnamese Coffee – Cafe Sua Da
For 1 person
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons ground coffee (any coffee is okay but Vietnamese preferred)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup boiling water
- ½ cup ice cubes
Directions
First, add 1 1/2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk in a heat-proof glass.
And place the filter over the cup. This is an individual Vietnamese coffee filter. The filter is composed of a chamber, an upper filter, and a lid. I love this: super easy to use and cleaning is just a snap. If you don’t have one, I strongly recommend you to buy one and try it out.
And add in 2 tablespoons of ground coffee. And flatten it. I am using Trung Ngyungen number 1 today. It is Vietnamese Starbucks.
Then cover with a top screen. And add in 1 tablespoon of hot water. And wait for the coffee grounds to bloom. When coffee begins to drip, pour in hot water until the filter is full. And cover with the top lid. The coffee will continue dripping for about 5 minutes.
Now remove the filter. And stir until combined.
To make iced coffee, pour the coffee into 1/2 cup of ice cubes. And serve.
Voila,
Café sua da. Taste and stir in more sweetened condensed milk, if desired.
