Easy Cream Cheese Frosting – 3-Ingredient Recipe

3-ingredient Cream cheese frosting on carrot cake

Easy Cream Cheese Frosting 3-Ingredient Recipe to decorate your cakes and cupcakes.

I love lemon flavored fluffy cream cheese frosting on carrot cake. If more confectioners’ sugar is added, this is also a great icing to pipe on cupcakes.

My best friend does not eat Philadelphia cream cheese: he likes authentic cheeses from fromageries (cheese specialty shops) in Paris. However, I happen to love the sour taste of this supermarket cream cheese, so I used a little amount of confectioners’ sugar in this icing for my carrot cake. But to your taste, or to pipe on your cupcakes, you can increase confectioners’ sugar up to twice the amount. Just make sure the texture is smooth and it has spreadable consistency.

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, at room-temperature (113 g)
  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar (125 g), or to your taste/climate, sugar can be increased up to 2 cups.
  • 5 oz cream cheese, softened (142 g)

To add flavor:

  • 1 lemon, zest only, or
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

In a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, butter, and confectioners’ sugar.

Today I am adding lemon zest to add flavor. You can use vanilla extract instead of lemon.

Then cream altogether until homogeneous. Today I used a whisk attachment for fluffier frosting. You can also use a paddle if you want to avoid bubbles.

I love lemon flavored fluffy cream cheese frosting on carrot cake.

Thank you for watching. Bye for now.
