Nutella Cake in Mug – 5-Minute Microwave Recipe

Nutella cake in mug is an individual cake which can be prepared in 5 minutes with microwave oven. Quick and easy. Mix, microwave and bon appetit. There were requests for more microwave recipes, so I tried one more mug cake. This time it’s Nutella.

So now gather your ingredients.

First, in a mug, add wet ingredients: an egg, milk, vegetable oil, and Nutella. Stir until combined.

Sift in flour and cocoa powder. Sifting is important because I really don’t like flour and cocoa lumps in my cake. And add in sugar and baking powder. And stir until well mixed.

Now the batter should be pretty liquidy.

Microwave for 1 minute. The power of individual oven is different, so be careful. Then repeat microwaving for 10 seconds only until the cake is done.

Voila! Dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve. The total microwaving time was 2 minutes. Look at this texture. Nobody can tell it’s microwaved. It is quick and easy. Don’t you have an oven? Do you want just one delicious cake only for yourself? This is it.

Bon appetit! Today it was a nutella recipe and tomorrow it’s hot drink.

    • Hi Lissa, Sorry but this is an individual cake recipe which is not tested in oven.

  3. Hi eugenie why do we need baking powder?? if I don’t put baking powder in it is it alright??

    • Hi Jesslyn, baking powder is a leavening agent which is needed to obtain fluffy cake texture. And yes, it’s necessary for this recipe. 🙂
