I remember I used to make chocolate cake (gateau au chocolat) with a rice cooker in my dorm room in France. This microwave recipe “chocolate mug cake” is not the best chocolate cake but still it should be a quick and easy chocolate fix for students, children, people without oven, and also other curious people.
Cake In Mug – Mug Chocolate Cake, 5-Minute Microwave Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon whole milk
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips
To serve:
- Additional confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Directions
In a small mug, crack in an egg, vegetable oil (today I used canola oil, continue adding) milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined. Now add in cocoa powder and all-purpose flour and stir until moistened. Finally stir in chocolate chips.
Microwave the mug for 2 minutes on full power.
Voila! Dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve immediately.
Bon appetit! The texture is a bit like pudding or rice cake. This is a quick and small chocolate fix for any time.
Thank you for watching.
Bye for now!
