Do you have stale bread at home? This is one of great ways to consume left-over bread. Add garlic herb croûtons into your soup or salad to make it more inviting.
Stovetop Garlic Croûton Recipe
- Half baguette, cut in cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
- Generous pinch of salt
First, in a large mixing bowl, add in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon dried basil (or any mixture of herbs you like, oregano, parsley, etc) , and a generous pinch of salt.
Then stir to combine.
Now heat a large frying pan over medium heat.
Meanwhile transfer the bread which is cut in cubes into the olive oil mixture.
And stir until the bread cubes are coated.
Now transfer to the pan and toast them, stirring occasionally. The bread should be brown.
It can be stored in an air-tight container for about 1 week.
Bon appetit! Bye!
