Fruit glaze is for finition (finish) in making fruit tarts and brushing layers in cakes making. For fruit pies/tarts, normally red fruits jam such as strawberry jam is used. And for cakes apricot jam is recommended.
Fruit Glaze for Pies and Cakes Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fruit jam
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon caster sugar
Directions
Remove lumps in jam Make the jam warm. On a clean working surface, crush the jam with a spatula to remove the lumps of fruit. Or, work the jam through a fine sieve.
Boil Add the jam, water, and caster sugar in a pan and bring to a boil, stirring.
Use Brush when warm.
