Hi, I am Eugenie. Today I am making chocolate sauce for tomorrow’s chocolate soufflé. This easy chocolate sauce recipe which can be also great chocolate spread. Use homemade chocolate sauce for any dessert you like.
Chocolate Sauce Recipe, or Chocolate Spread
- 4 oz semisweet chocolate chips, or chopped chocolate (110 g)
- 1/3 cup double cream (80 ml)
- 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
- Pinch of salt
In a small sauce pan, add in butter, salt, and double cream or crème fraiche.
Over medium heat, stirring, melt butter. When butter is completely melt, add in chocolate and stir until chocolate has melted and smooth.
If you want other flavors, add in pure vanilla extract, pinch of cinnamon, or 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.
This is beautiful thick chocolate sauce. It’s quite runny right now, but it becomes unctuous as it cools.
When it’s completely cooled in the refrigerator, it’s quite spreadable on a toast.
