Korean Steamed Egg Side Dish 달걀찜

Hi all,

Today I am going to make Korean steamed eggs. This Korean steamed egg side dish is quick and easy to make. If you like microwave oven, add more water and microwave just for four minutes! The taste is very straight forward but it has enjoyable creamy texture.  So, let’s start.

Korean Steamed Egg Recipe – Side Dish 달걀찜

Ingredients

    • 4 eggs
    • Half cup  water
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 6 inch a green onion sprig
    • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
    • Red pepper powder & sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Method

First, break 4 eggs into a bowl. One, two, three, four eggs.

Whisk all together until it becomes pale yellow colored.

Now I am going to strain it to make it extra creamy.

Then I will add half cup of water, quarter cup of milk, half teaspoon of salt, and chopped green onion. And mix well all together.

And I am going to pour the mixture into ceramic bowl. And to steam it, I will pour two cups of water into the pot, and put the egg mixture in it. Cover the pot with a lid and on medium heat, simmer for 15 minutes.

When time’s up, turn off the heat.

Mmm.. It’s beautiful.

When it’s done, the surface should be like pudding or jelly.

The bowl is very hot right now, so I will let it cool for a while like this.

Now garnish with red pepper powder and sesame seeds.

There you go. It’s a good side dish anytime.

Serve with rice and kimchi when it’s hot.

The steamed egg is very creamy inside.

Bon appetit.

Thanks for watching. Any questions or request? Leave a message! Bye for now.

xoxo
