Today I am making ttokbokki. This spicy snack is the most popular Korean street food, I used to eat a lot of ttokbokki after school when I was small.
Now gather your ingredients.
In a pan, add all the ingredients for sauce: garlic, red pepper flakes, light brown sugar, soy sauce, corn syrup, white cooking alcohol (today I used Korean 미향), and Korean red pepper paste. Then finally pour in anchovy stock. Over medium high heat, heat the sauce for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add in rice cakes, onion, and fish cakes. Then simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce is reduced in half.
Taste and add ketchup or more red pepper paste, sugar, or corn syrup as desired.
Finally add in green onion and hard-boiled eggs and simmer for 2 more minutes.
Voila! Chewy ricecake in spicy red pepper sauce. It’s sweet, savory, and spicy all at once. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve.

tried this once at a Korean Food Stall 8hours drive from home, and that was a year ago. I wonder if you can make a video on how to make rice cake. My family is a Korean food enthusiast and he’ll definitely love if I prepare ttokbokki for them. :)
